Homecoming

Homecoming

Key in hand—returning home,
No longer bound by need to roam.
The door creaks wide, revealing there
A life once lived, still lingering here.
Through the kitchen and narrow hall,
She walks these rooms that now seem small.
Each wall holds faces, memories deep—
Each soul a prayer, a vow to keep.
Summer’s light through windows warm
Gives shape to love’s familiar form.
Each tender face, by grace portrayed,
In heaven’s hands, her touch has stayed.
Look closer still—her heart recalls
A mother’s will within these walls.
Enchanted by that beckoning hand,
She moves on with the spirit’s plan.
