Prolific

Prolific

A question fit for quill and time,
To chase the ghosts of verse and rhyme.
If numbers rule the fateful gate,
How might I claim the poet’s fate?
Not a mystic, teacher, nor bard—
Poetic rivers flow forward,
Would prolific poems gain gold?
Will I be weighed by what I’ve sold?

These lines and poems, stacked sky-high,
To stitch more stanzas ‘neath the sky—
If I never pause, would they see
Me prolific in poetry,
If I write oceans, cold and wide—
Or few crafted with stars inside?
Now lean in close—I’ll whisper clear—
To tell of those I’ve penned most dear.
