Flickering flame: 1993 age 19

Flickering flame: 1993 age 19

chorus:
We must all work together to kindle the fire
of every flickering flame.
The strongest faith comes from the smallest desire
to know the love of Gods name.

verse one:
It’s so hard to be strong
when you feel so weak.
This road seems so long
and this darkness complete,
but all it takes is an outstretched hand
to help some one hold on,
a guiding light to help them understand,
remember when you weren’t so strong.

chorus:
For we must all work together to kindle the fire
of every flickering flame.
The strongest faith comes from the smallest desire
to know the love of Gods name.

verse two:
The wise man shines his light
while the foolish man leaves his light behind
and wanders into the night
to walk this road of life blind.
and isn’t it a shame
when that man was yet a boy
in his heart there was a flickering flame
and now that flame is destroyed.

chorus:
For we must all work together to kindle the fire
of every flickering flame.
The strongest faith comes from the smallest desire
to know the love of Gods name.

verse three:
The foolish man built his house on sand
while the wise man built on solid ground.
When the rains came that foolish man
saw his house falling down.
For their was no one to take his hand
or shine a guiding light
To help that young man stand
when he was falling into the night.

chorus:
For we must all work together to kindle the fire
of every flickering flame.
The strongest faith comes from the smallest desire
to know the love of Gods name.

verse four:
And it’s so hard to be strong
when you feel so weak.
This road seems so long
and this darkness complete.
So shine your light for me,
teach me the love of Gods name.
So that I might see,
for I am but a flickering flame.
