Song of Thanksgiving: Original -mid-20s

Song of Thanksgiving

Chorus

Lord my God I would sing to you

a song of Thanksgiving,

Everything that you do

makes my life worth living

V1

From the sunrise in the morning,

when the day is born anew

to the rainbows adorning

every blade of grass in dew

while the birds are singing

a song to God in prayerful

the church bells are ringing

and Lord I know you’re here

Chorus

V2

When I hear the Children’s laughter

sometimes I have to cry

It’s not happily ever after,

but Lord you know I try.

When the day seems long

and everything goes wrong

and the night seems even longer

when I can’t be strong and I can’t go on,

Lord that’s when you’re stronger

Chorus

You give me the gift of a lifetime

every minute of every day

and all I have is this simple rhyme

in which I thankfully pray

in my birth you gave me life

but your giving was not yet done

in my rebirth is eternal life

when you gave me the life of your son.

Chorus

Thank you, Lord for this song I sing

and this daily bread

and thank you Lord for everything

that I have not said.

Lord today is your holy day and I thank you.

For this day and every day I pray thank you

Thank you.
