A Walk in Woods in Winter
Wood and field and running brook, profound,
Stopping by the woods, winter whispers all around.
Be different, oh trees, in your varied attire,
Birches stand tall. Your white bark inspires.
Oh elm, you guardian, winds in your branches softly moan,
and the pear tree promises a future bloom, as we think of home.
Oh, how the poplars sway, but not the mighty Oak.
Amidst the black poplar boughs secrets are told by fairy folk.
The wild plum promises to adorn the path to the willows’ way,
As I walk the three hills, in the light of a cold winter’s day.

Table of Contents constraint poetry project. In this constraint, a poetry anthology originally published in 1925 was used. In each chapter section, titles were organized by theme and used to create a new poem.
