Please note I will be using Prompts from A BOOK OF SURREALIST GAMES by ALASTAIR BROTCHIE EDITED by MEL GOODING, over the next period of posts. (I will try to throw in other works for interest as well) As a Workshop of Potential Literature, I often move from one experimental phase to another. I have done Mathematical equation poetry, Sonnets of all forms, short form poetry (My least favorite, as I am prone to ramble) Unicode and alt code poetry (I love inventing new forms!), and much more. For transparency, I am homebound, and without social friends (likely due to the fact that I might encourage them to play such games and scare off potential playmates), so I will be altering these surrealist games (much like in my childhood when I played checkers and chess by myself). If you are alone like me, you may do the same using several optional tools. Books are preferred because if you ask AI, and anyone finds out, they might lynch you. If you are not afraid of being lynched, you may ask AI for random words, nouns, or sentences based on the criteria. I recommend having at least two or more separate AI programs open on separate browsers representing each “person” as AI tries to create patterns and will loose randomness. If you would rather die than use AI, then I assume, like me, your house is full of books. In this case, grab two or three books, randomly open each, and find the first words or sentences that meet the criteria. It is preferred to use unique books representing the different “personalities” that come with actual friends. I will give full credit to the book and list the instructions and any alterations I made (other than the friends part as you have been informed I have none and am using one of the above techniques). The book is available for purchase on Amazon and recommend it.
