A Dream Beyond Dreams
Into a dream within a dream beyond dreams, we sail,
Solitary enigma, as mute fowls take flight,
Driven by sweet winds and a lost love’s tale.
led by the spirits through velvety night.
In the City in the Sea, where dreams collide,
In a city of sin there stands a palace so haunted,
The divine right of kings cannot stem the tide.
Though the romance of science leaves one enchanted.
In a Blissful Time, the Bridal Ballad’s tune,
As bells chime twice for joy and for pain.
plays and fades like a forest flower’s bloom.
Now the lost love lingers in a haunted refrain,
In dream’s luminosity, a gilded city gleams,
An epigram spoken soft, a hymn takes form,
As lost love weeps for fractured dreams,
Harmonious notes, thunder drums and storm.
The Evening Star shines bright in Fairy Land’s sky,
A love’s pulse, when stilled, is a city’s despair,
Serenades sing of loss and youth passed by,
As the songs of the souls fill the Stygian air.
O Hymn, Aristotelian, harmonious and true,
The spirits of the dead sing softly tonight,
An impromptu carol through skies so blue.
Blending a lost love’s song with deaths quiet night.
Imitating life in forms so burlesque.
As time marches on through colossus sands,
A Conquering Worm writhes, its power grotesque,
While Eros and Charon, in love join hands.
For each love story, each vision, a tale is spun,
And so we sing low in this haunted domain,
By the stars of the evening, until dawn’s run—
The dream within a dream beyond dreams, remain.
