Searching the waters
I swim to the depths, where waters flow wide,
The river stretches, endless and vast,
seeking the answers, where questions hide.
But the answers I chase are flowing too fast.
I dive for the truth, for a glimpse of the way,
But the more I seek, the more I collide,
hoping the ripples will guide me today,
rocks I can’t see, my thoughts turn to pride.
Each question I ask feels like one more strain,
in my search, I lose sight of grace,
to fathom His ways, to understand pain.
God’s goodness eternal, beyond this space.
His ways are not mine, His thoughts not my own,
I am the one who needs to rest and trust,
I strive to make sense of the great unknown.
Yet He is all good, and in Him, I must—
Trust that His love will never cease.
For He is the truth, the light, and the way,
To overthink is to let go of God’s given peace,
Yet God is enduring, answers come when I pray.
