Night Chant of the Ancient Shore Draft

Silver glides—through night’s solemn stillness.
Night’s hush deepens, wisp winds enthrall me—
Fading, drifting, where moonlit tides flow.
Moonlight shimmers, as dark tides drift by thee.

Silver gleams, as the sea winds are singing.
Branches whisper, through a faded old pine tree,
Calling souls, to their rest—in the stillness.
Softly, the moonlight sings, on the dark sea.

Distant stars, gleam on waters, that sigh low.
Night winds wander, telling secrets to me,
Calling souls—into soft, lulling slumber.
Moonlight shimmers, and drifts upon tides free.

Silver gleams, where the night sigh is singing.
Branches murmur from the old jack pine tree,
Lulling my soul—to sleep in its stillness.
Softly, the moonlight drifts, ‘cross the deep sea.

Silver it shimmers, veiling the whisp waves.
Wind breathes low, through branches like memory,
Calling my soul—to rest, in the hush—still.
Moonlight drifts—on wave’s tide of melody.

Waves are at rest, their silver sounds now hush.
Night winds still wander, sighing secrets to me,
Calling my soul, to sleep in their stillness.
Softly the moonlight, drifts on the dark sea.

Waves in their slumber, silver shimmers are quiet.
Branches hush, as dreams fade—hum softly.
Beckoning wanderers—home into slumber.
Moonlight shimmers, on waves sighing loftily.

Silver gleams, while the night winds have gone,
Winds are murm’ring ,as dreams vanish slightly,
Summoning souls, to their quiet, restful sleep.
Softly the waves, now murmur and call thee.

Response

  1. Performance poetry is really hard. I haven’t gotten back to this. You have to put yourself in a certain mind set. It is really rough. I might shorten it for ease of performance.
