In God I Am In Place

Today is not the day

to lay about preening

yet the Devil says “lay

To hell with his scheming

In hell there’s no meaning

no Heavon in this place

Here I seek God’s Grace.

Yet I do not live as I may

crying like a babe — weening

Failing in spirit to pray

Shall I wait for the gleaning

or continue soughing with pace?

Here I seek God’s Grace.

I met Jesus on my way

In God I found my meaning

I thought to never stray

yet dance with the devil in my scheming

Will Sin keep me from my daydreaming

When I hide from God my face?

I found my life demeaning—

Here I seek God’s Grace.

I find myself on Jesus leaning

with eyes open — finally seeing

In spirit believing in place.

Here I seek God’s Grace.
